Crime-Free Housing

My problems with crime free housing began in 2013, after I refused a Crime-free housing officer of Granite city’s demand to evict a disabled father, his wife, and their children from a property I owned in Granite city:

City officials citing the crime-free housing program had demanded my customer’s eviction after allegedly finding a single marijuana plant growing in the property’s backyard. At the hearing (which was recorded) I argued that the family were excellent tenants, having always paid on time and taken excellent care of the home, and it would cause undue hardship for my business to evict it’s paying customers, especially one on a lease-purchase contract as in this case. My tenant further pleaded that moving would cause extreme hardship for him and his family, and that he had already paid the $250 fine for the plant, thus serving the punishment for the crime.

Regardless, the city ordered a trial to revoke my business license for refusing to comply with their demand for eviction. However, as a compromise, the city agreed to allow me to keep my business license and continue to rent to the tenants, on the condition that I relocated the family (whom are still my customers to this day) to a different house I owned in Granite city. This illogical and pointless relocation left me with a vacant house draining my business funds, caused my customers unnecessary hardship, all for seemingly no purpose whatsoever.

I first started to consider the possibility of harassment after I was arrested for ticket 2016ov400378, which was issued shortly after I refused another demand from a crime-free housing officer to evict a paying customer from her home, this time a pregnant woman, all because her fiance had been accused, but not convicted, of resisting arrest; in the words of a crime-free police captain “He is guilty if I say he is guilty”. The legal problems have since escalated to ticket 2018ov400153 which is currently on appeal.

As a further example of the many frivolous tickets requiring me to neglect other obligations in order to appear in court; I am currently the plaintiff in case #2019MR000357 involving a $1500.00 default judgment issued against me after a hearing which I was present for in front of at least four witnesses.

In yet another case I had to appear in court three separate times to answer for ordinance violations at a property that I did not own (2454 Delmar), despite giving the city a written statement notifying them of that fact.

I have many more examples of harassment and have accumulated a great deal of evidence, however, my defense against this barrage of municipal citations has become a full time job and I simply don’t have time to, by myself, gather all the evidence from previous cases into one cohesive case for harassment, while struggling to defend myself against the ongoing harassment. I am looking for legal representation to help me gain compensation for the loss of my 30 year Granite city business, please contact me if I can provide you with any further information.
